PASTORS.
REVERENDS TOMMY & ASHTON VINCEK
The Vinceks are the founding and lead pastors of Dwelling Place Church. They are both credentialed licensed ordained ministers in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). Their ministerial experience consists of years in evangelism, working with youth, being on worship teams, and in various local church ministry roles. Their heart is to see lives completely changed and transformed through the power of Christ. They reside in Atkinson, NC with their baby girl Alora Grace.
Our Story
In the fall of 2018 our local area experienced devastation from Hurricane Florence. During the recovery period the Lord began to stir the hearts of our pastors and give them a burden to serve Pender County through the means of a new local church. This was not only a huge step of faith in starting a new church, but also in being first time pastors. Pastors Tommy & Ashton shared their vision with our regional church leadership and began to pursue training to help gain insight and prepare for this endeavor. Our first event as a church was scheduled in March 2020 and before we could ever gather together, the world was shut down by a global pandemic. As we explored this uncharted territory with the rest of the world, we were faced with setbacks as in person gatherings came to a halt and life as we knew it drastically changed. During this time we connected through the means of Zoom and Facebook, sharing encouragement and diving deeper into God's Word. In 2021 we were finally able to have our first in person events and set our goal of launching in March of 2022. Like many church plants we faced the difficulty of finding our own location to host our weekly worship gatherings. Gateway Community Church was generous to allow our congregation to use their facility on Sunday evenings and we were portable, setting up and tearing down for 16 months. The Lord opened up the incredible door for us to move in the Summer of 2023 and provided our own space to lease and call home for Dwelling Place Church. We are beyond grateful to all who have supported us through this journey. We know that we have only made it this far by God's grace, the prayers of many, and the generosity of those who have sown into this ministry. We are convinced that God has incredible things in store as we continue to answer the call to serve the Burgaw community and surrounding areas.

- March 2020: Shared that We Were Starting Dwelling Place Church
- July 2020: Started An Online Bible Study
- May 2021: First Launch Party
- May 2021: Began Once a Month Encounter Worship Nights
- February 2022: Second Launch Party
- March 2022: Launched Weekly Sunday Evening Services at Gateway Community Church
- June 2023: Started Meeting Weekly on Sunday Mornings at the Public Library
- August 2023: Launched Weekly Sunday Morning Services at Our Current Location

We are grateful to be a part of this global network that has over 7 million members and is in 178 countries. Our regional office is in Kenly, NC where we are resourced, supported, and have accountability.
